PostSubject: Coolermaster V10...   Thu Feb 26, 2009 12:02 am

Alright, So I was originally going to go with the Coolermaster V8 with my i7 build, but I ventured to coolermasters website to look up the replacement parts for the haf and stumbled upon this....

Now, you'll have to pardon me, because im still in awe and in dire need of an underwear change. It has three heat sinks and two fans and apparently puts mid range water cooling systems to shame... affraid
Now, theres normally not a point where im like "well, thats over kill" as those of you who know me have already learned, but this is to an extent has me where im scratching my head going "is this necesarry?".

Im awe struck by this piece of technology, I love the look, obviously, I enjoy over clocking (though not at regular intervals) and of course... the newer the better, but it's running about $140 and im not entirely sure I can justifye that price even if I can afford it.

Opinions?

I think im going to. I went with the EVGA board and the North bridge fan is fairly large itself...

So im not entirely sure it will even clear it...
But yeah, I think im going to just hold off until the price drops a bit.

I would love to have that case. Overkill, Yes. Awesome, Hell YA.. First thing I would do is get rid of the MSI MoBo. Sure I know it doesn't come with the case just thought I would throw that in. tongue

The case is the Coolermaster Storm Sniper, which runs about $160.. it's
actually the case I just purchased and im not a big of MSI either, I
definitely think that they could have went with a better brand for the
mobo, but thats just pesronal preference.
The big red thing that's covering half of the motherboard, that's the
V10 (CPU cooler).

Yes I have and i've thought about it alot. I might re-evalute though.
The reason I was originally lead away from it was because it didn't
support ddr3 2000, which I was going to under clock and tighten the
latency, but I found some OCZ ddr3 1600 that had 7-7-7-24 latency,
which is essentially where under clocking (in theory) the ddr3 2000
would have put me.

Actually, upon further inspection, ive decided not to go with the v10 and stick with the v8. I dont like the idea of not being able to access my ram...

So with the money ill be saving on that, ill be investing in the Asus (not too found of the brand myself) Rampage II Extreme.
